About This Waterfall
Krokfossen is an unofficially named waterfall which occurs along the Krokelva as it tumbles into Bondhusvatnet in Folgefonna National Park. Previously we had listed the falls as dropping approximately 485 meters (1,590 feet) in total, however after re-examining one-meter contour topographic maps and aerial imagery for the area, it appears that was an underestimate and the falls are in fact closer to 530 meters (1, 740 feet) tall. The trail leading to Bondhusvatnet crosses the stream immediately below the falls, so an up-close view of the lower section of the falls is possible, however due to substantial foreshortening the entire length of the falls may be difficult to take in from the trail.
