Name of Waterfall

Kveåfossen

Description

Kveåfossen is an unofficially named waterfall which can be seen tumbling down the south wall of Fortunsdalen near Eidsvatnet. The falls drop approximately 570 meters (1,870 feet) in a long horsetailing type drop, with a smaller stream tumbling in parallel and joining the main falls about halfway down. The drainage area for the stream which produces the falls is rather small, and while the falls do feature a modest flow during the snow melt season, by mid to late summer its volume is typically reduced considerably without prolonged rainfall to replenish.
