About This Waterfall
The melt stream from the Dixon Glacier falls over 1,500 feet in a single, long horsetail-style waterfall - starting as a free-fall and then reverting to a long steep series of veils, slides and miniature steps - which terminates almost directly in Lake Francis (the base of the falls should be considered to be about 100 vertical feet above the lake). The falls don't seem to have a terribly significant volume for most of the year, but flow well throughout the summer months when the area is accessible.
