Lilliwaup Falls
Lilliwaup Falls is the major waterfall along Lilliwaup Creek, situated just above tidewater about a half mile above Hood Canal. The falls drop 142 feet in four distinct steps of 15, 16, 65 and 46 feet respectively. The falls were at one time the site of a small lumber mill in the early part of the 20th century and were partially altered to power the mill. The lower tier of the falls currently features a crib dam which raised the pool level between the third and fourth tiers by about 5 feet and effectively destroyed about half of the lowest tier of the falls under concrete. The three upper tiers of the falls appear to be unaffected by this past development. A small hydroelectric facility currently operates at the falls, as well as a privately operated fish hatchery. Lilliwaup Falls is located entirely on private property and is not accessible to the public. Please respect the rights of the landowner and do not attempt to visit the falls.
