Lindsey Creek Falls

Description

Lindsey Creek Falls is the only of perhaps a dozen waterfalls known to exist along Lindsey Creek that appears marked on topographic maps. The falls are found in a narrow grotto approximately 4/10 of a mile upstream from where Interstate 84 crosses the creek, but have not ever been known as a sought after destination nor had any sort of developed or sanctioned access. The visible portion of the falls drops a total of 53 feet, with the bulk of that coming in the form of a 47-foot tall plunging fall which veils outward slightly during periods of higher flow due to the way the creek pours over a choke stone wedged in the narrow gap at the top of the falls. When the volume of the creek drops during the summer, the water funnels over only one side of this boulder, resulting in the falls appearing considerably narrower in appearance.
