Little Moss Glen Falls

Description

Little Moss Glen Falls is situated adjacent to Moss Glen Falls, roadside along Route 100 about 2.7 miles north of the village of Granville. A large parking area is offered on the west side of the road just north of both of the falls, from which a nice boardwalk leads immediately across Alder Brook and passes near the base of Little Moss Glen Falls shortly after before continuing to the viewing deck in front of Moss Glen Falls itself.Little Moss Glen Falls is an oft-overlooked twin waterfall to the much more famous Moss Glen Falls just a few hundred feet to the south. While nowhere near as visible, voluminous or significant as its bigger sibling, Little Moss Glen Falls is equally easy to access and presents itself as a quaint bonus waterfall when visiting Granville Notch. The falls are made up of a single horsetail style fall in a narrow cleft in the bedrock which slides down steeply for about 75 feet.
During the dry season when Moss Glen Falls itself is flowing with just a small amount of water, expect to find Little Moss Glen Falls nothing more than a trickle. In the wet season however, the falls are quite presentable and can even inflate to fairly impressive size during the snow melt and flood seasons.
