Name of Waterfall

Lower Canyon Creek Falls

Description

From the town of Granite Falls, drive about 2.1 miles east along the Mountain Loop Highway, or about 1/2 a mile east of Granite Falls (the waterfall), to Canyon Drive. Follow this road down past a bunch of private homes, for about 1 mile to a bridge crossing Canyon Creek directly upstream of the small falls.Canyon Creek possesses a series of small waterfalls (more like really big rapids) in the vicinity of Granite Falls, only one of this - the lowermost - appear to be publicly accessible. This fall cascades about 15 feet total over a split ledge, most of the water funneling down a trough in a few small drops while a small stream (during most moderate flows at least) plunges on the far left. The town of Granite Falls and the area immediately around this waterfall have developed a rather seedy reputation in the past couple decades - usually stemming from an inordinate amount of Meth labs that have been discovered in the area. If you do visit this waterfall, be very cautious of your personal belongings.
