Name of Waterfall

Lower Chocwich Falls

Description

Chocwich Creek runs out of a small basin perched on the ridge between Elliott and Bedal Creeks along the Mountain Loop Highway. In its last half mile it drops over 1200 feet and while there are certain to be dozens of waterfalls along its length, this one is as good as they get. The falls start off by veiling outwards over a mossy cliff, splitting into several channels, then regrouping and fluming a short distance further in a drop that totals 132 feet in height. Looking above the falls from where I took my pictures, I'm positive there are more, possibly larger waterfalls upstream of here (below Chocwich Falls itself) but the scramble further upstream is very steep and I had no time on my last visit.
