Name of Waterfall

Lower Crabtree Falls

Description

Crabtree Falls is often claimed to be the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River. In reality there appear to be three distinct and entirely separate sections of falls along the creek, segregated by stretches of gentler cascading stream. The lowermost section of falls on Crabtree Creek looks to consist of 4-8 distinct tiers and could be anywhere from 200 to 400 feet tall in all, depending on where the bottom of the falls is located.
