About This Waterfall

Madden Falls can be easily seen from the Squamish Valley Road, about 20 kilometers north of Squamish, just before the pavement ends, or from the aforementioned bridge a kilometer further up the main road.Madden Falls is one of the most prominent waterfalls in the Squamish Valley. Neighboring Crooked Falls on Sigurd Creek, Madden provides an interesting Beauty versus the Beast comparison. Madden Creek gently wafts in the wind as it plummets thousands of feet to the valley floor, whereas Crooked Falls thunders down a gnarled staircase. Madden Falls stands an estimated 1900 feet tall, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in North America, but because of its small volume, it doesn’t receive much recognition at all. The largest drop leaps a clean 500 feet or so, with three tiers above and five below. The entire series of falls are difficult to see together due to the thick forest on the floor of the Squamish Valley, but the bridge on the Ashlu Main which spans the Squamish River provides a good look at the whole series without any effort.
