About This Waterfall
Drive east along SR 542 to the small town of Maple Falls. Turn left on the signed road for Silver Lake, and immediately, turn right and park behind the corner store. There is a fenced off maintenance yard (or something) which a small beaten path contours into the woods where a trail becomes obvious. Follow it a short distance downstream to good vantages looking back into the small falls, with little cascades above and below.Maple Creek inconspicuously creeps through the woods and takes a small series of tumbles as it heads towards the Nooksack River. This is not an impressive waterfall, I'm actually surprised the town was named after a feature as small as this. The town of Maple Falls was named such because of the presence of large maple trees in the area, and a small waterfall on Maple Creek. I can only assume that the falls were named in a similar manor.
