Meditation Falls
Located within the Boulder River Wilderness, off of the Mountain Loop Highway between Arlington and Darrington. Drive east from Arlington along SR 530 for about 19 miles to French Creek Road # 2010, and proceed to the large parking area at the end of the road, 4 ½ miles from SR 530. Meditation Falls is encountered just under 3 miles from the trailhead. Short paths lead to the bank of the river where clear views of the falls are easily obtained. The Boulder River Trail is a popular low-elevation hiking destination in Western Washington, especially during the early and late periods of the season. While many hikers end up turning around at the impressive Feature Show Falls at the 1-mile mark, those who press on can find a second waterfall pouring into the Boulder River from the opposite canyon walls. Medidation Falls is fed by an unnamed stream draining from a handful of tiny tarns on the northeast side of Mount Ditney. The falls veil 94 feet directly into one of the calmer stretches of the Boulder River, directly across from several large boulders which provide an excellent stoop for viewing the falls and relaxing. This waterfall has no official name but is colloquially referred to as Meditation Falls.
