About This Waterfall

Take Interstate 5 to the town of Woodland, and exit onto Highway 503 heading east. Follow 503 east to Cougar, and continue to Forrest Service Road # 90, just passed the Pine Creek Ranger Station. Follow FR 90 for 5 miles and turn left onto FSR #51 (watch for signs pointing to Curly Creek Falls). Follow Road 51 for one mile and turn left into the parking area for Curly Creek Falls. Follow the easy trail (stay right at the junction) past the Curly Creek Falls viewpoint to its end at the Miller Creek Falls viewpoint.Miller Creek Falls plunges 66 feet over the same cliff band harboring neighboring Curly Creek Falls. Even without the unique features of Curly Creek Falls, Miller Creek is a much smaller stream and it produces a much less interesting waterfall. Additionally the simple plunging fall is quite obstructed by several trees just below the viewpoint across the canyon from the falls and as a result there are no easily or safely attained clear views. What Miller Creek can one-up Curly Creek Falls on is the fact that it does flow all year long. While Curly Creek is a much larger stream, because Curly Creek flows into a sink above Curly Creek Falls, Miller Creek Falls continues to flow late in the summer while Curly Creek routinely dries out by the end of August. The Forest Service recently erected a new sign calling the falls just Miller Falls, leaving out the "Creek". Both variances on the name are acceptably correct.
