About This Waterfall
The Mutarazi River meanders along a plateau and makes a double leap down a sheer rock face into a forested valley. The upper tier is hidden from the viewpoint on the edge of the plateau, but is clearly visible from the valley floor. The falls are elegantly paired with another larger river that drops over a slightly taller and more voluminous waterfall called Muchururu Falls. The falls are commonly spelled without the "u" at the beginning of the name, however we've been informed by a local resident that spelling it with a "u" is the proper way, although we must note that the Zimbabwean Government has a national park called "Mtarazi Falls National Park" so the issue isn't necessarily cut and dried.
