Name of Waterfall

North Fork Rock Creek Falls

Description

The Rock Creek drainage near Stevenson harbors dozens of attractive waterfalls, most of which are tucked out of easy sight in difficult-to-access narrow side canyons. One of the few exceptions occurs along the North Fork of Rock Creek where the Pacific Crest Trail passes a series of modest falls as it climbs northeast toward Sedum Point. Three noteworthy falls occur within partial view of the trail but none are directly accessible without scrambling off trail.
This waterfall is formed as the North Fork Rock Creek (or at least one of the two primary forks thereof) plunges in a narrow, slightly veiling fall of 25 feet set against a luminous mossy cliff, and then after sliding down a short stretch of bedrock cascades, plunges another 31 feet over an undercut cliff into a deeper section of the canyon lined with Red Alder and Big Leaf Maple trees.
