About This Waterfall
Nymph Falls is a series of shallow sliding cascades along the Puntledge River a short distance downstream of Comox Lake. The series of falls drops a total of about 50-60 feet in a run of approximately 2000 feet, but no individual section has a drop of more than about 10 feet. The majority of the volume of the Puntledge River has been diverted for hydroelectric generation above the falls, which reduces the volume of the river significantly during the summer months. A fish ladder has been blasted into the bedrock up the middle of the falls to aid in improving fish spawning grounds but has altered the flow of the river during the summer such that very little water flows over the natural bedrock formations.
