About This Waterfall

Paulenfossen is the site of the first Statkraft power plant in 1895, used to power the Setesdalsbanen railway. Original dam at the falls is still in place but no diversion occurs. When the river is high, it still falls over the natural bedrock, but under normal conditions it just pours over the old Kringsjå dam.
