About This Waterfall
Phantom Falls is a massive multi-stepped fall with a total drop of between 700 and 1100 feet that falls out of the very peculiarly situated Phantom Lake near the head of Sechelt Inlet in the Coast Range. The exact height of the falls isn't known, Tony Greenfield suggests in his book "Waterfalls of British Columbia" that the tallest drop is about 100 meters in height (330 feet), but Google Earth suggests the total drop of the whole series of falls may be in the order of 1000 feet or more. Unfortunately the Clowhom River is slated to be stuffed in a pipe for hydroelectric generation at Phantom Falls, so on top of the difficult access to this beast, there may be a time limit on when it will still exist in its natural state.
