Pin Creek Falls

Description

Pin Creek Falls is a remarkably scenic waterfall found not even 1000 feet away from the Lewis River Road, yet the falls are more or less completely unknown. The Forest Service apparently once maintained a trail to the gorgeous 36 foot tall falls, but all vestiges of whatever trail there once was are gone. The only way to access the falls is to dawn sandals and wade upstream into the remarkably deep canyon that produces the falls. I first attempted to follow the canyon rim to the falls, not knowing how tall the falls were, only to find myself well over 100 feet above the creek where the falls occur, and the canyon kept going, so I suspect another waterfall shortly upstream as well, but access may prove exceptionally difficult without rappelling gear.
