About This Waterfall
Powell River Falls was a very powerful waterfall along the Sunshine Coast but has been harnessed for hydroelectric production for well over a hundred years and seldom achieves its natural state. The falls will likely flow during the winter flood season but will be essentially shut off during the summer. The dam immediately above the falls severely limits the scenic quality of this waterfall.
