About This Waterfall
This massive waterfall can be seen thundering into the valley of the Kitlope River about 31km south of the head of Gardner Canal. The falls are only accessible by plane or a boat small enough to navigate the river upstream from the fjord, but the booming 1,300 foot tall falls seems likely to be among the very best in British Columbia. The name we have listed this waterfall under is derived from what is thought to be the Haisla Indian name for the stream which produces the falls - pronounced "Kah-nah-dah-LAYZ".
