About This Waterfall
Rip Van Winkle Falls is a modest waterfall along Catskill Creek within the town of Leeds. The falls drop about 15 feet, with a small 3-5 foot tall dam capping the falls and diverting a portion of Catskill Creek into a large penstock which bypasses the falls into a hydroelectric facility. The falls are said to be closed to public access, so please heed any signs which indicate public access is not allowed.
