Sources claim 70 meters as a height figure, but this isn't accurate. The main portion loses about 30 meters in elevation, and the total drop is about 46 meters. In high water, there is a substantial western segment, but the flow stays in the eastern channel unless the Rivière Maskinongé is in full spate.
