About This Waterfall
Sockeye Falls is a huge, booming waterfall which explodes downward for at least 700 feet along Sockeye Creek as it descends to the Taku River valley. Though the falls are less than 25 miles away from Juneau, the Taku Valley is very remote and inaccessible, so the falls are likely only possible to view from aircraft - on the plus side however is that as long as an aircraft is necessary to travel to Sockeye Falls, continuing another 20 miles up the Taku Valley will also yield views of even more impressive Bishop Falls in British Columbia.
