About This Waterfall
South Creek drains into Lookout Point Reservoir about 11 ½ miles west of Oakridge. The Mount June Trailhead is located adjacent to the mouth of the creek, but it isn't terribly well signed, so keep a sharp eye out for the falls, and watch your odometer. The falls are best viewed from the side of Highway 58, but the Mount June trail runs passed the top of the falls. This one was a big disappointment. Partially due to the fact that South Creek pours directly into Lookout Point Lake, and when the pool is full, a portion of the falls becomes submerged. So when I visited the falls, they stood about 10 feet tall. I've been told when the lake is low, the falls stand about 30 feet tall, and this is the only reason I've included this waterfall in the database. As it is pictured above, the falls are moderately scenic, but not all that impressive. I imagine when the lake is down, the scenic qualities lower, but the falls should, obviously, be more noteworthy. In all, I wouldn't suggest wasting your time here.
