About This Waterfall
The spillway for Ashokan Reservoir drains into an unnamed stream which itself feeds into Esopus Creek over 3 miles downstream from the Ashokan Dam. Along this spillway are several falls and cascades which occur naturally along the unnamed tributary stream. When the spillway is open, the water exiting Ashokan Reservoir substantially augments the natural flow of the stream and creates a rather impressive series of falls and cascades, with the most substantial fall lying about 600 feet downstream of the bridge along Spillway Road. Further investigation will likely result in this entry being broken up into multiple entries.
