About This Waterfall

Stewarts Cascades is a set of five falls along a branch of the North Fork of the Provo River which drop a total of about 475 feet over a run of 560 linear feet, making it one of the tallest perennial waterfalls in the state of Utah. The falls drop in individual steps of about 55, 85, 30, 200, and 35 feet, with the additional 70 feet of height made up in cascading stream between each of the tiers. Additional waterfalls are found further upstream, but it's not clear yet whether they meet the necessary requisites to be considered additional tiers of Stewarts Cascades, or entirely separate waterfalls on their own right. The stream is partially spring fed but will be greatly reduced in volume when the winter snow on Mount Timpanogos has melted away. The USGS officially lists this waterfall as Stewarts Cascades, however Stewart Falls is much more commonly used to label the falls (we would argue that calling this set of falls "cascades" is inaccurate as well, since all four tiers are pretty close to vertical rather than cascading type falls).
