About This Waterfall
Strawberry Mountain Falls is a seasonal 250 footer located about 2 miles north of Ryan Lake in Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. The falls plunge in two steps with a slide in between. When I first visited the falls in the early 90s the majority of the waterfall could be seen from the road. As of 2008, almost all of it is completely obstructed from view. Scrambling to the base of the falls is possible, though its muddy and crumbly, but all that can be seen is the lower 2/3 of the final drop of the falls which I measured at 93 feet tall. It may actually be possible to scramble to the top of the lower tier for a look at the upper tier, but that will have to wait to be tested until another trip.
