About This Waterfall

Summit Falls is one of several waterfalls along McClure Creek within Havana Glen above Eagle Cliff Falls. During the late 19th and early 20th century, Havana Glen was developed as an attraction to compete with nearby Watkins Glen, and featured cantilevered walkways, bridges, and catwalks that climbed the gorge in precarious fashion. The gorge above Eagle Cliff Falls was at one time accessed via a stairway that climbed directly to the top of Eagle Cliff Falls, entered the narrows above via a catwalk suspended above the water, and continued upstream via multiple stairways. The walkways have long since been destroyed and abandoned, and access in to the canyon above Eagle Cliff Falls is not permitted.
