About This Waterfall
Teanaway Falls is located at the Esmerelda Basin Trailhead at the end of the North Fork Teanaway Road in the Wentchee National Forest. Take Interstate 90 to Cle Elum and depart at Exit 85 and follow Highway 970 towards Wenatchee. Just under 7 miles from 90, turn left on Teanaway Road and follow it to its end in just under 23 miles. The falls are located to the left of the parking area at the roads end.Teanaway Falls is a modest cascade of about 30 feet along the North Fork of the Teanaway River adjacent to the Esmerelda Basin trailhead. The falls sluice down a shallow gorge, cascading a few feet here and there, getting steeper and steeper and finally culminating in a scenic cascade of about 15 feet in height. This isn't a destination I would recommend targeting solely for the waterfall, but those looking for a good hike with a waterfall included are urged to undertake the climb to either Lake Ann or Ingalls Lake after enjoying the falls for a while.
