Description
This historical self-catering resort was founded in 1739 and offers both hot and cool baths. It also has wonderful hotel accommodations. It is situated in Citrusdal which is a small, rural town with 5,000 inhabitants in South Africa's Western Cape.
The Baths Natural Hot Springs, hidden in the Olifants river valley, features stunning Victorian-style stone buildings. They are peacefully located in a quiet setting. There are many options for flats and chalets.
There are both cold and hot water outdoor pools. A number of hot mineral springs baths are also available. Natural hot water springs have a temperature of 43° Celsius or 109° Fahrenheit. Only day guests are allowed with prior reservation.
You can also enjoy a tennis court and a pool table as well as a children's playground, mountain biking trails and hiking trails. Bird watching is also possible. The site also has a curios store and MacGregors Restaurant which serves breakfast and lunch as well as dinner.
Pets and music are not permitted. Ecological sensitivity means that only 220 people are permitted at any given time.
There are 16 flats and 19 chalets available, with fully equipped kitchens and braai areas. You can also choose from 25 camping or caravan sites. Each site offers electricity hookups as well as shared access to ablution (washing), facilities.
Online bookings can only be made for Outside Chalets. Weekend bookings must be made on Friday and Saturday nights. Pets are not permitted.
