About This Waterfall
The USGS has mapped this waterfall nearly 8,500 feet up the side of Mauna Kea but aerial imagery shows this location to be quite parched for surface water. Chances are this waterfall only exists in very brief spats during either extremely heavy and localized rainfall, or if there happens to be a signifcant (and rare) amount of snow on the summit of the mountain.
