About This Waterfall

From the junction of Highway 30 and SR 433 at the western end of the Lewis and Clark Bridge, follow Highway 30 west for 5 miles, then bear right onto Delena Road (or Beaver Falls Road, or Old Route 30; there have been signs marking it as all three in the past). As of November 2012, there was no longer a sign marking the road, so watch your odometer and look for the road which splits off from the highway heading straight ahead where the highway bears slightly left. Take Delena Road for 1.5 miles to a small pull-off on the left side of the road at the top of the falls. If you cross the creek on the fourth bridge along Delena Road, you've gone too far.Though not nearly as significant or scenic as nearby Beaver Falls, this upper fall along Beaver Creek is noteworthy and much more accessible. The falls cascade 11 feet down a small exposure of well formed columnar basalt, with a 4-foot sliding cascade located just upstream. The pool below the falls is quite large and is a relatively popular swimming hole in the summer months (this attraction has also invariably led to the falls harboring significant amounts of litter at times as well).
