About This Waterfall

Upper Lilliwaup Falls is the upper of two major waterfalls along Lilliwaup Creek. The falls consist of two distinct tiers, first a broad cascading fall of 23 feet located immediately below a 5 foot tall dam which partially diverts Lilliwaup Creek into the hydroelectric station, and then a 60-foot tall veiling fall which spreads outward in an extremely scenic display and features one of the most spectacular firehose-effects in any waterfall in the northwest - the water slides down in a concave runnel and shoots outward across part of the face of the falls in a nearly horizontal path before slamming into the cliff on the opposite side of the creek. Like Lilliwaup Falls found just downstream, this waterfall is located on private property and is not accessible to the public. Please respect the rights of the landowner and do not attempt to visit the falls.Upper Lilliwaup Falls has also been known as Bridal Veil Falls, and this seems to have been a more common name around the turn of the 20th century. We are told by locals that the proper name of the falls is however Upper Lilliwaup Falls.
