About This Waterfall

Take Highway 101 7 miles north of Shelton to West Skokomish Valley Road, turn west and follow for 5.6 miles to a fork and bear right (uphill). Follow the rough gravel road for another 2.3 miles then turn right on FSR 2340, signed for High Steel Bridge, encountered 2.4 miles further. Parking is available on both sides of the bridge with the falls best seen from mid span.To reach this gorgeous waterfall, exit Highway 101 at the signed road to the Skokomish Trailhead (Skokomish Valley Road). Drive this road for about 6 miles to where the pavement splits. Follow the right fork (non-dead end) up the hill for another 3 miles, losing the pavement for gravel about 1 mile along, then turn right along Road 2340, signed "High Steel Bridge, 3". Drive this route for (you guessed it) 3 miles to the bridge. Park on either side and walk out onto the deck and peer down into the frothing chasm and the falls as well as the couple of small falls above and below the main part are visible.Vincent Creek creeps out of the woods and explodes down the side of a fantastic gorge to meet the South Fork of the Skokomish River below. The falls are viewed from the aptly titled "High Steel Bridge", which crosses over 300 feet above the canyon floor. Because the creek has a very small watershed the falls most likely dry out by mid summer - indeed the best time to visit is November to February when the Skokomish River basin receives heavy rainfall.
