About This Waterfall
In an attempt to counteract the spread of Kauri Dieback Disease, Auckland Council have closed most of the walking tracks in the Waitakere Ranges and made it an offense to go 'off track'. Kauri trees are found amongst other native trees throughout the Upper North Island, however, Kauri dieback disease is threatening Kauri trees with extinction. There is no cure for Kauri Dieback Disease, it can be spread by just a pinhead of soil contaminated by the pathogen Phytophthora agathidicida. Please find another place to explore. The falls can be seen from the top of Pukematekeo off the Scenic Drive, the access road is still open.
