About This Waterfall

Walton's Cascade is the largest waterfall along Cascade Brook in Franconia Notch. The falls drop approximately 175 feet over a run of about 975 feet. There are multiple distinct sections to the falls, and it is likely they should be split apart and listed as separate entities in this database, but further on-site surveying will have to be conducted to confirm where and how each section of cascades is split. The name Walton's Cascade was applied to (at least) the upper part of this series of falls in a stereoview photograph dating back to some time in the 1800s published by E. & H. T. Anthony & Company. This is thus far the only evidence we've encountered of a name being applied to this particular waterfall on Cascade Brook, despite other falls upstream having been named as well. Previously this waterfall was listed simply as Cascade Brook Falls.
