About This Waterfall
Lacamas Park is located in the northern part of the city of Camas, just north of Highway 14, east of Vancouver. Take Highway 500 north from Highway 14 for a little over 2 ½ miles to a small parking lot on the right, signed as Lacamas Park, immediately before crossing Lacamas Creek. Park in the lot and follow the paved paths downstream for ½ mile to Pothole Falls, crossing the dam holding Round Lake back about halfway. Just past Pothole Falls, watch for a service road leading off to the left. Follow this road for another third of a mile to a poorly signed, but obvious path on the right, and follow this for another ¼ mile to the falls, a total of about a mile from the trailhead.Of the three modest waterfalls Lacamas Park harbors, Woodburn Falls is the most forgettable. Seasonal Woodburn Creek - sure to run dry by June - splashes over a ledge for about 20 feet amid rather thick deciduous growth that provides a modest wilderness feel. This appears to be the Vancouver equivalent to the waterfalls of Cougar Mountain near Bellevue - pretty in the winter, but not really worth the time otherwise. The walk makes a nice side trip, but if you're here for waterfalls, the two falls on Lacamas Creek itself are much more interesting.
