About This Waterfall
This waterfall can be found about 4 kilometers in along the Yoho Valley Trail from the trailhead at Takakkaw Falls in Yoho National Park. Short spurs lead to good views of the lower tier of the falls, with the upper being more easily seen from just a few feet off the trail. This small pair of drops on the Yoho River serves as a nice respite from the climb up the Yoho Valley trail from Point Lace Falls. The river thunders over a pair of falls here, one about 10 feet tall, one about 20 feet tall, before rumbling through a twisty gorge and continuing downstream. Considering how much elevation the trail gains between Point Lace Falls and the Little Yoho River, its possible there are larger falls on the Yoho downstream from this point, but cross country travel would be necessary to investigate. Just upstream from the falls, some interesting patterns can sometimes be seen in the water where the muddy Yoho River merges with the azure-colored Little Yoho River.
