About This Waterfall
This is the lowermost waterfall along Compass Creek on the north side of Mount Hood. The falls have been generically referred to as Lower Compass Creek Falls in several editions of Greg Plumb's Waterfall Lover's Guide books, however Jack Grauer's "Mount Hood: A Complete History" establishes the name of this waterfall as Canon Ball Falls and suggests that at one time a trail actually led to the falls.
