About This Waterfall

From Pittsford village, turn onto Furnace Road and proceed for 1.4 miles. At the intersection of Furnace Road and Hitchcock Road, you'll proceed straight on Hitchcock Road (Furnace Road makes a right angle turn...be sure to stay on Hitchcock) for .8 of a mile, then turn right onto the rough gravel road leading to the Pittsford trailhead. The falls are short hike of about a quarter of a mile. There is a wooden sign at the base of the falls.Furnace Brook leaps over 3 successive cascades, totaling about 25 feet in vertical loss over a run of about 150 feet. The upper portions of the falls are obscured by encroaching branches and leaning trees, while the bottom tier is a clearly visible segmented cascade that comes to rest in a broad and shallow pool.
