About This Waterfall

Neshobe Falls is found in the center of the town of Brandon, immediately downstream of the bridge (more like a culvert) crossing the Neshobe River along Route 7. Parking is available along the street, primarily to the south of the river.Neshobe Falls is a small cascading waterfall along the Neshobe River located in the center of the town of Brandon. The falls tumble about 25 feet down a sloping ledge immediately downstream from the bridge along Route 7, and while buildings flank both sides of the falls, enough trees grow around the falls to allow it to retain at least some semblance of natural character amid the urban development. The town of Brandon has recently undertaken an effort to partially restore some of the area above the falls, and a small greenspace overlooking the falls with a small rotunda is now situated above the falls, adjacent to Route 7. The Neshobe River basin drains from an area covering approximately 21 square miles, and includes both extensive marshes and wetlands, as well as extending high up the west flank of the Green Mountains. This should ensure that the falls will retain a healthy flow for the majority of the year, the wetlands releasing water in the winter when the mountains are snowed in, and snow melt providing the bulk of the flow during the late spring and early summer months.
