About This Waterfall

East Fork Falls is the only major waterfall in the Parachute Creek Canyon complex which is known to be publicly accessible. Most of the waterfalls in the canyon are situated on lands owned by any of several energy companies, but East Fork Falls lies on land which was held by the US Navy as a strategic oil reserve but was deeded to the BLM after it was found to be too costly to extract oil from. The falls plunge over an undercut cliff for at least 250 feet – and possibly as much as 300 feet.
