Entiat Falls
Entiat Falls are within the Entiat Valley, accessed off of Highway 97A, north of Wenatchee. Proceed north from Wenatchee along Highway 97A for 18 miles to the signed Entiat Valley Road (just south of the town of Entiat). Follow the Entiat Valley Road for 32.3 miles, or 2 3/4 miles passed Silver Falls Campground, to the roadside parking for the falls (signed). The falls are seen just 20 feet away from the rocks along the river.Entiat Falls is essentially the only recognized waterfall along the Entiat River - though Fish Tail Falls can be found several miles downstream (though most don't recognize it as a waterfall) and there may be something else near the headwaters. Entiat Falls isn't a major waterfall, but being located roadside it is worth a stop and a look. Here, the river rumbles around a corner and intersects a square-shaped ledge of about 10 feet where it plunges over a wide breadth or a narrow funnel, depending on the water level. The rocks overlooking the falls are heavily polished, so be careful when the river is running high.It isn't known when the falls were discovered, but chances are it was named during the same 1936 survey that Fish Tail Falls was recognized.
