About This Waterfall
Grand Falls is the largest waterfall in Arizona by square acreage, dropping 185 feet in two steps (with some smaller ledges just upstream) over a nearly 600-foot wide breadth of the Little Colorado River. The volume of the river varies greatly as the season fluctuates, ranging from around 350-400 cubic feet of water per second in March and April, to just 8-10 cubic feet of water (on average) per second in June. The falls will flow much better following heavy rain in the drainage upstream, but can be reduced considerably in volume at any given time without prolonged precipitation.
