This spring is named after an early settler of this region, Robert Hamill. During the 1800s, when the region was drought-ridden, water from this spring was used to provide relief to the settlers of this region. The boilers from the nearby Gus Boyd sawmill also use water from this spring for its functioning. The water is free from any chemicals and contaminants and is really great for drinking. While visiting the Hamill Spring, you may come across several kinds of butterflies.
