About This Waterfall
Kyrfossen is a low volume waterfall which can be seen veiling into Ausdalen near the head of the Osafjorden. The falls drop approximately 475 meters (1,560 feet) in at least two distinct steps, with the largest individual part of the fall dropping about 350 meters (1,150 feet) on its own. The basin which the Kyrelvi drains from is quite small, and once the seasonal snow has melted off the falls should be expected to be reduced in volume and stature considerably - potentially running entirely dry by the late summer.
