About This Waterfall
Lawrence Falls may have at one time been a natural set of rapids along the Merrimack River, but is currently supplanted by a dam. There is no longer a natural waterfall at this location and we only include this entry in the database as a point of reference. This "waterfall" was also known as Merrimac Falls for some time, but the name seemed to have been primarily associated with the dam along the river, rather than the naturally occurring rapids which were inundated by the impounded reservoir.
