About This Waterfall

From Mission, take the Lougheed Highway east to Sylvester Road. Turn north onto Sylvester Road and proceed 16.5 km (the final 2.5 of which will be on a gravel road) to the bridge over Murdo Creek and the falls immediately downstream. The trail, which is steep at times, leading to its base can be found on the north side of the bridge.McDonald Falls is an easily accessible though frequently overlooked waterfall found within the undeveloped Davis Lake Provincial Park near the city of Mission. The falls occur where Murdo Creek, Davis Lake's inlet, slides and plunges down four polished steps, the first three falling 10-15 feet a piece followed by a final leap of 40 feet. Early in the year the falls flow with great force due to the heavy snow pack usually found within the basin harboring the lake the stream heads in. By late summer the volume of water flowing over the falls subsides substantially which effectively render the deep pools between each tier of the falls perfect for swimming.
