About This Waterfall
Northland Falls plunges into a small cove along at the northwest end of Blackstone Bay near the town of Whittier. The falls occur along a major melt water stream produced by the Northland Glacier which emerges from the side of the glacier and plunges into the sea, rather than following the natural slope of the glacier and originating at its toe. The falls are only accessible by boat, but are a common attraction on boat tours of the glaciers in the Whittier area since the most popular tours seem to visit the Blackstone Bay area.
